1 lb lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups medium noodles (approx. 4 oz.)
2 1/2 cups tomato juice (I use V-8 juice, more flavor)
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
1 (12 ounce) can beef broth
1/2 cup water
1 cup sour cream
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained

Steps:

  • Brown beef, onion, garlic and salt. Add a little oil if you need it (I find I don't).
  • Add noodles.
  • Combine tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt, salt, pepper, beef broth and water in a bowl and stir. Pour mixture over beef and noodles.
  • Cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes (or until noodles are cooked to your liking).
  • Stir in mushrooms and sour cream. Heat through and serve.
