My grandpa loves his cereal soft and sweet. I'm not much into granola or cereal but this is delicious! Every time I visit he makes it for me, I'm going to have to start making it for myself at home!

1 cup granola-type cereal
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sweetened coconut
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup mixed fruit (can be fresh fruit or single-serving plastic cup in juice)
1/4 cup light canned sweet cherries

Steps:

  • Place granola cereal in large bowl with milk.
  • Stir in coconut, dried cranberries, fruit, and cherries.
  • Let sit 15 minutes until soft.
  • Enjoy!

4 ½ cups rolled oats
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 ¼ cups honey
¾ cup wheat germ
½ cup chopped raw cashews
½ cup chopped raw almonds
⅓ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup flaked coconut
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  • Mix oats, flour, honey, wheat germ, cashews, almonds, vegetable oil, coconut, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt together in a large bowl; spread onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, stir, and increase heat to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Continue cooking until the granola is golden brown, about 10 minutes more. Cool granola completely before storing in an air-tight container.

3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2-1 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup margarine, softened

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients together (not the topping ingredients).
  • Put in 12" X 8" X 2" pan.
  • For the topping, mix margarine, sugar and nuts.
  • Put over potatoes.

My grandmother and I created this homemade granola recipe one day, and it is currently loved and requested by the rest of my family, including my other grandma who used to be anti-granola! My favorite ways to serve it are in coconut Greek yogurt or just in a bowl with milk. Simple and awesome.

nonstick cooking spray
4 cups old-fashioned oats
1 ½ cups chopped pecans
1 ½ cups slivered almonds
1 cup coconut flakes
½ cup vegetable oil
⅓ cup packed brown sugar
⅓ cup honey
¼ cup maple syrup
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¾ teaspoon salt
2 cups dried cranberries

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Mix oats, pecans, almonds, and coconut flakes together in a large bowl. Set aside.
  • Combine vegetable oil, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir gently until it begins to boil; remove from heat. Pour over oat mixture and fold together until dry ingredients are well coated. Spread granola onto the prepared baking sheet.
