Tips:

  • Use the right type of sweet potatoes. For the best flavor and texture, use firm, medium-sized sweet potatoes with deep orange flesh.
  • Preheat your oven. This will help the bread bake evenly.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter, more tender bread.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will help prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Overmixing can result in a tough bread.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake the bread for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Conclusion:

With its moist, tender texture and sweet, cinnamony flavor, this Granny's Sweet Potato Bread is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it. It's the perfect addition to any breakfast, brunch, or afternoon tea party. And because it's made with sweet potatoes, it's also a healthier alternative to traditional breads.
