Tips:

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: For the best flavor, use fresh green beans and portobello mushrooms. Look for beans that are crisp and green, and mushrooms that are firm and have a deep, earthy color.
  • Trim the Green Beans: Before cooking, trim the ends of the green beans to remove any tough or stringy parts.
  • Slice the Mushrooms: Slice the portobello mushrooms into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.
  • Cook the Mushrooms First: Portobello mushrooms take longer to cook than green beans, so sauté them first until they are tender and slightly browned.
  • Add the Green Beans: Once the mushrooms are cooked, add the green beans to the pan and sauté until they are tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
  • Season to Taste: Season the sautéed green beans and mushrooms with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish the sautéed green beans and mushrooms with fresh parsley or chives, and serve immediately.
