GRILLED STEAK WITH CHIMICHURRI SAUCE

Grilled Steak With Chimichurri Sauce image

From Jewish Living Magazine, December, 2007. "Chimichurri is an Argentinian garlic-herb sauce that pairs perfectly with grilled meats. It's easy to prepare, and any leftover sauce is excellent on chicken or a burger." Note- the sauce may be made up to one week ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator in a sealed container. Just bring to room temperature before serving. I have this copied here for safe keeping but haven't tried it yet.

  • Choose the right steak: Select a skirt steak, flank steak, or hanger steak for a tender and flavorful grilled Gaucho steak.
  • Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, and herbs helps tenderize and flavor it. Alternatively, you can use a store-bought marinade.
  • Grill the steak over high heat: This will create a nice char on the outside while keeping the inside juicy.
  • Let the steak rest before slicing: Allow the steak to rest for a few minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
  • Serve with chimichurri sauce: Chimichurri sauce is a traditional Argentinean sauce made with fresh herbs, olive oil, and vinegar. It adds a bright and flavorful touch to the grilled steak.
