Tips:

  • For a crispier casserole, use a combination of shredded and diced potatoes. The diced potatoes will help to absorb some of the moisture from the casserole, resulting in a more golden-brown crust.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking dish. This will prevent the potatoes from cooking evenly and will result in a soggy casserole.
  • If you are using a glass baking dish, preheat it before adding the casserole ingredients. This will help to prevent the casserole from sticking to the dish.
  • Season the casserole generously with salt and pepper. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika, to taste.
  • Top the casserole with a layer of shredded cheese before baking. This will help to create a delicious, golden-brown crust.
  • Let the casserole rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and will make the casserole easier to slice and serve.

Conclusion:

Ground beef and shredded potato casserole is a delicious and hearty dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With its combination of ground beef, potatoes, cheese, and vegetables, this casserole is sure to be a hit with the whole family.
