GROUND TURKEY SLOPPY JOES

Ground Turkey Sloppy Joes image

I got this recipe from http://www.madsrecipes.com/ website. My husband didn't like the way I made sloppy joes before I tried these. He loves these sloppy joes. I try to make them every month or 2. They have a really good flavor I use the red wine vinegar in mine. For myself because of my gluten problem I serve it open faced on a slice of "Recipe #160607". I also don't use quite as many onions because my family doesn't like them that much. I use about 1/2 to 1 onion depending on the size. Be very careful when serving this, mine comes out very hot! Some have commented that you don't need to make this in the crock pot. I agree, I haven't been making it in the crock pot lately. I half the recipe and use it to make gluten free Sloppy Joe Pot Pie, which is pretty good.

Tips:

  • To ensure your sloppy joes are bursting with flavor, use a flavorful ground turkey. Look for one that is made with a blend of dark and light meat, as this will give you the best flavor and texture.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with your sloppy joe sauce. There are endless possibilities, so feel free to add your favorite spices, herbs, and vegetables. Some popular additions include diced onions, green bell peppers, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • For a healthier sloppy joe, use whole wheat buns and top them with a side of fresh vegetables, such as lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
  • If you're short on time, you can use a pre-made sloppy joe sauce. Just be sure to doctor it up with some of your favorite spices and herbs to make it your own.
  • Sloppy joes are a great meal to make ahead of time. Simply cook the meat and sauce according to the recipe, then let it cool completely. Store the sloppy joe mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you're ready to serve, simply reheat the mixture over low heat until warmed through.

Conclusion:

Ground turkey sloppy joes are a delicious and easy meal that the whole family will love. They're perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual get-together. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful and satisfying meal that everyone will enjoy.
