Tips:

  • Choose Fresh Halibut: Use fresh halibut fillets for the best flavor and texture. Fresh halibut should have a mild, slightly sweet flavor and be firm to the touch.
  • Season Generously: Season the halibut fillets with a blend of spices and herbs to enhance their flavor. A combination of chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper works well.
  • Cook Halibut Properly: Cook the halibut fillets until they are just cooked through to maintain their delicate texture. Overcooking will make them tough and dry.
  • Use a Variety of Toppings: Experiment with different toppings to create flavorful tacos. Some popular options include shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, sliced avocado, pickled onions, and crumbled feta cheese.
  • Make a Flavorful Sauce: To add an extra layer of flavor, consider making a sauce to drizzle over the tacos. A simple combination of mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, lime juice, cilantro, and jalapeños makes a delicious sauce.
