2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 cup whole milk
Coarse salt and ground pepper
Ground nutmeg
6 ounces thinly sliced deli ham
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
1 large egg, lightly beaten

Steps:

  • On a floured work surface, roll each sheet puff pastry to a 10-by-13-inch rectangle. Transfer to 2 parchment-lined baking sheets and refrigerate. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium. 1 tablespoon whole milk
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard

1 tube (12 ounces) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/4 teaspoon paprika

Steps:

1 package (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, defrosted (recommended: Pepperidge Farm)
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 pound black forest ham, sliced
1/2 pound Swiss Gruyere cheese, sliced
1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water, for egg wash

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Place a piece of parchment paper on a sheet pan.
  • Lay 1 sheet of puff pastry on a floured board and carefully roll it out to 10 by 12 inches. Place it on a sheet pan and brush the center with the mustard, leaving a 1-inch border around the edge. Place a layer first of ham and then cheese, also leaving a 1-inch border. Brush the border with the egg wash.
  • Place the second sheet of puff pastry on the floured board and roll it out to 10 by 12inches. Place the second sheet on top of the filled pastry, lining up the edges. Cut the edges straight with a small, sharp knife and press together lightly. Brush the top with egg wash and cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

1/2 pound Gruyere cheese, grated on the large holes of a box grater (about 2 cups)
1/2 pound cream cheese
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
6 slices (1/2 inch thick) sourdough bread, cut from a round loaf
4 ounces cooked ham, cut into 12 slices
3 to 4 red radishes, very thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a food processor, pulse half the Gruyere cheese and all the cream cheese until smooth, about 30 seconds. Transfer mixture to a small mixing bowl. Fold in the thyme, and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

3 tbsp sundried tomato paste
4 slices ham
125g ball mozzarella , drained and torn into chunks
50g roasted red pepper from a jar, cut into strips
25g pitted black olive , halved
large pinch dried oregano
handful rocket leaves

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Unroll the pastry onto a baking sheet and score a border 1cm from the edge. Prick inside the border with a fork and spread with the sundried tomato paste. Bake for 12-15 mins.

100g sliced ham , chopped
1 bunch spring onions , sliced
2 eggs , lightly beaten
300g tub soft cheese , room temperature
2 large handfuls rocket leaves
50g blue cheese , crumbled
2 tbsp pine nuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Brush each filo sheet with a little oil and layer into a 20cm springform or loose-bottomed tin, overlapping each sheet at a different angle.
