Tips:

  • Use a variety of potatoes for a more flavorful hash. Yukon Gold and red potatoes are good choices.
  • Shred the potatoes by hand for a better texture. A food processor will make the potatoes too mushy.
  • Season the potatoes generously with salt and pepper. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
  • Cook the potatoes over medium-high heat until they are golden brown and crispy. Don't overcrowd the pan, or the potatoes will steam instead of fry.
  • Add the ham and cheese to the potatoes towards the end of cooking. This will prevent the ham from drying out and the cheese from melting too much.
  • Serve the hash browns immediately, topped with your favorite toppings. Some popular options include sour cream, salsa, and guacamole.

Conclusion:

Ham and hash browns is a classic breakfast dish that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that the whole family will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy breakfast or brunch recipe, give ham and hash browns a try.
