Steps:
- 1. take the bologna and shredd it up; usually I use a food processor but this time I used my grater and it worked fine with less clean up...Shred it in a large mixing bowl
- 2. Shred the Cheese to the mix; or add the pkg. shredded cheese
- 3. Shred the eggs with the grater; i found this so quick and easy; I use to chop my eggs for egg salad or recipes for chopped eggs but this time they just slid right over the grater and was so fast and easy..shred this into the mix in the bowl
- 4. Shred the whole dills into mix as well...
- 5. Add Mayonnaise to the mixture and stir well to blend it all together....adjust the mayo to taste; more or less depending on desired consistency...
- 6. Taste test to make sure it is good;))) Put in container in fridge to chill and use it for sandwiches... So easy and so delicious....like I said earlier; it is my version of the poor man's ham salad and just as good;))))
Tips:
- Choose the right ham: For the best flavor and texture, use a high-quality ham that is not too salty. A smoked ham or a deli ham will both work well.
- Chop the ham finely: This will help the salad to spread more easily and will also make it more flavorful.
- Use a variety of ingredients: In addition to ham, you can add a variety of other ingredients to your salad, such as celery, onion, pickles, hard-boiled eggs, and mayonnaise. Feel free to experiment with different combinations to find your favorite.
- Season the salad to taste: Add salt and pepper to taste, and you can also add a bit of Dijon mustard or horseradish for extra flavor.
- Chill the salad before serving: This will help the flavors to meld and will make the salad more refreshing.
Conclusion:
Ham salad spread is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. It can be served on sandwiches, crackers, or vegetables, or it can be used as a dip for chips or pretzels. It is also a great make-ahead dish, so you can have it on hand for a quick and easy meal or snack.
