BARBECUED HAMBURGER ( SLOPPY JOES )
Most people call these Sloppy Joes. From Mary Schafer, 1950. Recipe jealously guarded in times past. This is the stuff we grew up with. Use 90% ground beef or brown and drain the beef first. Serve on hamburger buns with dill pickle chips, a must!

Tips:
- When choosing ground beef for sloppy joes, opt for an 80/20 blend, which offers a good balance of flavor and fat.
- To get a nice, crispy texture for your sloppy joe patties, cook them over medium-high heat until they are well-browned on both sides.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the patties. This will prevent them from cooking evenly.
- For a classic sloppy joe sauce, use a combination of ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. You can also add other ingredients, such as onions, peppers, or garlic, to taste.
- Let the sloppy joe sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve sloppy joes on hamburger buns or slider buns. You can also serve them over rice or pasta.
Conclusion:
Sloppy joes are a classic American comfort food that is easy to make and loved by people of all ages. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and satisfying meal that is perfect for a casual get-together or a busy weeknight dinner. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give sloppy joes a try!
