Steps:
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and sugar. Blend in shortening with a fork until mixture is fine. Add milk and stir until just mixed. Add raisins and mix. Add cinnamon and mix until swirled through batter. Do not mix batter any more than you have to. Scrape batter onto well floured surface. Flour top and pat down with hands until 1/2-inch thick. Cut with 2-inch cutter and place on greased baking pan. Bake at 400°F for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Frost with powdered sugar glaze icing.
Tips:
- Use high-quality ingredients for the best results. Organic and unbleached flour will yield a more flavorful and nutritious biscuit.
- Be sure to measure your ingredients accurately. Too much or too little of any one ingredient can affect the texture and flavor of the biscuits.
- Work the dough as little as possible. Overworking the dough will make the biscuits tough.
- Use a biscuit cutter that is at least 2 inches in diameter. Smaller cutters will make biscuits that are too dense and dry.
- Space the biscuits at least 1 inch apart on the baking sheet. This will allow them to rise properly and prevent them from sticking together.
- Bake the biscuits at a high temperature (450 degrees Fahrenheit) for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown. This will help them rise quickly and evenly.
Conclusion:
With a little practice, you'll be able to make Hardee's biscuits that are just as delicious as the ones you get at the restaurant. These biscuits are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They can be served with butter, honey, jam, or gravy. You can also use them to make sandwiches, sliders, or even bread pudding. No matter how you choose to serve them, Hardee's biscuits are sure to be a hit!
