Tips:
- For crispy hash browns, use cold, shredded potatoes. This will help them hold their shape and brown evenly.
- Be patient when cooking the hash browns. Don't stir them too often, or they will break up. Just let them sit in the pan and cook undisturbed until they are golden brown and crispy.
- If you don't have a griddle, you can cook the hash browns in a large skillet. Just make sure the skillet is hot before adding the potatoes.
- Season the hash browns with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
- Serve the hash browns immediately with your favorite toppings. Some popular toppings include eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and salsa.
