Number Of Ingredients 5

4 oz. unsweetend chocolate
1 tall can evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick margarine
3 cups sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Melt margarine and chocolate in top of double boiler. Add sugar a little at a time and when all sugar is added, add milk and cook until satiny.
  • 2. Bake a Devils Food Cake mix in 9x13 pan. Cool.
  • 3. When ready to serve cut in squares and split. Put slice of vanilla ice cream in middle and pour fudge sauce over the top.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate: The type of chocolate you use will have a big impact on the flavor of your sauce. Choose a chocolate that you enjoy eating on its own, and make sure it has a cocoa content of at least 50%.
  • Don't overheat the chocolate: If you overheat the chocolate, it will seize up and become grainy. Be patient and stir the chocolate constantly over low heat until it is melted and smooth.
  • Add a little bit of salt: Salt helps to balance out the sweetness of the chocolate and makes the flavor more complex. Add a pinch of salt to your sauce before serving.
  • Use fresh cream: Fresh cream will give your sauce a richer, creamier flavor than milk. If you don't have heavy cream on hand, you can use milk instead, but your sauce will be thinner.
  • Don't boil the sauce: Boiling the sauce will cause it to thicken too much and become grainy. Bring the sauce to a simmer over low heat and then remove it from the heat.
  • Let the sauce cool slightly before serving: The sauce will thicken as it cools. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving so that it has a chance to thicken up.

Conclusion:

Fudge sauce is a delicious and versatile dessert topping that can be used on a variety of desserts, including ice cream, cakes, and brownies. It is also a great addition to milkshakes and smoothies. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make your own homemade fudge sauce that is sure to impress your friends and family.
