Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (2 -3 lb) broiler-fryer chickens, cut-up
1 cup of hidden valley ranch salad dressing
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
vegetable oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • Place chicken pieces in shallow baking dish. Pour salad dressing over chicken. Cover and refrigerate for aleast 8 hours. Remove chicken and shake off excess marinade; discard the left over marinade.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • On plate, mix flour, salt, and pepper. Roll the chicken in seasoned flour.
  • Heat 1/2 inch of oil in large skillet until small cubed of bread dropped in grease browns in 60 seconds. Fry chicken for 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Transfer to baking pan; bake until chicken is tender and juices run clear, about 30 minutes. Serve with corn muffins.

Tips:

  • Use a buttermilk marinade to tenderize the chicken and infuse it with flavor. Buttermilk is a natural tenderizer, and it will help to keep the chicken moist during frying.
  • Be sure to coat the chicken evenly in the breading mixture. This will help to ensure that the chicken is crispy and evenly cooked.
  • Fry the chicken in hot oil. This will help to create a crispy crust and prevent the chicken from becoming greasy.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when frying the chicken. This will cause the chicken to steam instead of fry, and it will not be as crispy.
  • Cook the chicken until it is golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature of the chicken should be 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help to redistribute the juices and make the chicken more tender.

Conclusion:

Hidden Valley Ranch Fried Chicken is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The buttermilk marinade and Hidden Valley Ranch breading mixture give the chicken a flavorful and crispy crust, while the ranch dressing adds a creamy and tangy flavor. This recipe is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
