Number Of Ingredients 7

1 package Brown Gravy Mix
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
2 teaspoons Onions, Minced
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper, Ground
1 teaspoon Chives
4 servings instant mashed potatoes
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix Gravy Mix, ground beef, minced onion and pepper in large bowl. Shape into a loaf, 2 inches high, in shallow baking pan. Stir chives into prepared mashed potatoes. Spread over meat loaf. Bake 55 minutes or until cooked through. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 2 minutes longer or until cheese melts.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ground beef for the meatloaf. This will ensure that the meatloaf is flavorful and juicy.
  • Don't overmix the meatloaf mixture. Overmixing will make the meatloaf tough.
  • Form the meatloaf mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish. You can use a 9x5-inch loaf pan or a 13x9-inch baking dish.
  • Bake the meatloaf at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the meatloaf reads 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the mashed potatoes. Peel and cube the potatoes and then boil them in salted water until they are tender. Drain the potatoes and then mash them with butter, milk, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Once the meatloaf is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then, spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake it for an additional 15 minutes, or until the mashed potatoes are golden brown.
  • Let the meatloaf cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
