Tips:
- Choose the right ginger: Use fresh, young ginger for the best flavor. Avoid using old or fibrous ginger, as it will give your cordial a bitter taste.
- Peel the ginger correctly: Use a spoon to scrape off the skin of the ginger. This will help to remove any dirt or blemishes and will also prevent the ginger from becoming too fibrous.
- Use a good quality honey: The honey you use will have a big impact on the flavor of your cordial. Choose a raw, unfiltered honey for the best results.
- Don't boil the cordial: Boiling the cordial will kill the beneficial enzymes in the honey and will also make the cordial too thick. Instead, heat the cordial gently until it reaches the desired temperature.
- Let the cordial cool completely before storing: This will help to prevent the cordial from becoming cloudy.
- Store the cordial in a cool, dark place: This will help to preserve the flavor and quality of the cordial.
Conclusion:
Ginger cordial is a delicious and versatile drink that can be enjoyed in many different ways. It can be diluted with water or sparkling water to make a refreshing beverage, or it can be used as a mixer in cocktails. Ginger cordial can also be used as a marinade for chicken, fish, or tofu. No matter how you choose to enjoy it, ginger cordial is a great way to add a little bit of zing to your life.
