HOMEMADE PUMPKIN PIE...

Homemade Pumpkin Pie... image

I love to bake homemade pies for holidays. This is my go to recipe for pumpkin pies. Also it is the recipe my mother past down to me.I could be a already made store bought pie but nothing beats a homemade fresh pie of any kind any day of the week....

Provided by Vanessa "Nikita" Milare

Categories     Pies

Time 55m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp cloves
1 3/4 c pumpkin, canned or cooked
2 eggs-beaten
1 3/4 c evaporated milk
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 pie crust shell

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 425F. In lager bowl sift all the dry ingredients together. In medium bowl combine all the wet ingredients with the pumpkin & mix well. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet & mix well. Pour all but 1 cup full into the pie crust, place in the hot oven & then add in the last cup. Bake for about 40 to 45 mins. The center of the pie might still have a little liquid, gently shake so it will be observed.

Tips:

  • Use fresh pumpkin puree: Fresh pumpkin puree is essential for the best flavor and texture. If you don't have time to make your own, you can find canned pumpkin puree in most grocery stores.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the pie tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the pie in a preheated oven: This will help ensure that the pie cooks evenly.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving: This will allow the flavors to develop and the pie to set properly.
  • Serve the pie with whipped cream or ice cream: This will add a delicious and creamy touch to the pie.

Conclusion:

Pumpkin pie is a classic fall dessert that is easy to make and always a hit. By following these tips, you can make the perfect pumpkin pie that will be enjoyed by everyone.
