Beat until stiff peaks form. Fold in vanilla. ***TIP*** Using powder sugar instead of regular sugar will keep your cream from separating.

HOMEMADE WHIPPED CREAM

Homemade Whipped Cream image

I've made this many times and it always comes out perfectly! I've seen many recipes for whipped cream that make the process sound so difficult...but its not! The first time I tried this I used an electric hand mixer, instead of whisking by hand, to beat the heavy cream, and it worked perfectly! This can be made ahead of time and...

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 c heavy cream
2 Tbsp confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Beat chilled cream with electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  • 2. Blend in sugar and vanilla and beat until stiff peaks form.
  • 3. Thats it! Very easy and so much better than canned whipped cream!

Tips:

  • Begin with chilled ingredients. Cold cream whips up quicker and holds its shape better.
  • Use a clean bowl and whisk. Any traces of grease or dirt can prevent the cream from whipping properly.
  • Whip the cream gradually, starting on low speed and increasing it as the cream thickens.
  • Stop whipping when the cream reaches stiff peaks. Over-whipping can cause the cream to become grainy.
  • If you're using a stand mixer, be careful not to overbeat the cream. It's easy to do, especially if you're not paying attention.
  • Add sugar or other flavorings towards the end of the whipping process. This will help prevent the cream from becoming too stiff.

Conclusion:

Homemade whipped cream is a delicious and versatile topping that can be used on a variety of desserts. It's also relatively easy to make, as long as you follow a few simple tips. With a little practice, you'll be able to whip up perfect whipped cream every time. So, next time you're looking for a special topping for your favorite dessert, give homemade whipped cream a try. You won't be disappointed!
