Tips:
- Fresh blueberries: For the best flavor and texture, use fresh blueberries. If you only have frozen blueberries, thaw them completely before using.
- Lemon juice: Lemon juice adds a bit of tartness and helps to balance out the sweetness of the honey. If you don't have lemon juice, you can substitute lime juice.
- Honey: You can use any type of honey you like, but a light-colored honey, such as clover honey will give the spread a milder flavor.
- Vanilla extract: Vanilla extract adds a touch of sweetness and depth of flavor. If you don't have vanilla extract, you can substitute almond extract or even cinnamon.
- Storage: Honey blueberry spread can be stored in a clean glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. You can also freeze the spread for up to 3 months.
Conclusion:
Honey blueberry spread is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be enjoyed on toast, pancakes, waffles, or even ice cream. It's also a great way to use up fresh blueberries when they're in season. With just a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make your own honey blueberry spread at home. So next time you're looking for a sweet and flavorful spread, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
