Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 c pecan halves
1/4 c butter or margarine
1 Tbsp plus 1 t. soy sauce
1 tsp tabasco sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Spread pecans evenly in a 13x9-inch baking dish; bake at 300 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Combine remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour over pecans; stir gently. Let stand 30 minutes; drain on paper towels. Makes 2 cups.

Tips:

  • Choose the right peppers: For a milder flavor, use poblano or Anaheim peppers. For a spicier flavor, use cayenne or habanero peppers.
  • Roast the pecans first: Roasting the pecans before coating them in the pepper mixture will help them to absorb the flavors better.
  • Use a variety of spices: In addition to the chili powder and cumin, you can also add other spices to the pepper mixture, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or smoked paprika.
  • Be careful not to burn the pecans: Keep a close eye on the pecans while they are roasting in the oven. They can burn quickly, so be sure to remove them from the oven as soon as they are done.
  • Let the pecans cool completely before serving: Once the pecans are roasted, let them cool completely before serving. This will help them to crisp up.

Conclusion:

Hot pepper pecans are a delicious and easy-to-make snack that is perfect for parties or gatherings. They are also a great way to use up leftover pecans. With just a few simple ingredients, you can make a batch of hot pepper pecans that will be sure to please everyone. So next time you are looking for a spicy snack, give hot pepper pecans a try!
