MINT SWEET ICED TEA

Mint Sweet Iced Tea image

All the mint sweet tea recipes I've come across call for fresh mint, and that can be tough to find sometimes without breaking the bank. I've come by this recipe after quite a bit of experimentation, and the great part is that it can be made just about anywhere, as long as you have the ability to cool the tea back down after brewing!

Provided by mithbarazak

Categories     Beverages

Time 10m

Yield 1 quart, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
2 green tea bags
1 peppermint tea bag
ice

Steps:

  • Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  • Turn off heat and add tea bags, steeping to desired strength (for me, 3-5 minutes).
  • Remove tea bags and add ice until cool.
  • Serve in a tall glass over ice!

Tips:

  • Choose ripe honeydew melon: A ripe honeydew melon will have a creamy white color and a slightly sweet smell. Avoid melons that are green or have bruises or soft spots.
  • Use fresh mint leaves: Fresh mint leaves will give your tea the best flavor. If you don't have fresh mint, you can use dried mint, but it won't be as flavorful.
  • Sweeten to taste: The amount of honey or sugar you add to your tea is up to you. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Chill the tea before serving: Iced honeydew mint tea is best served chilled. You can chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or you can make it ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Garnish with mint leaves or a slice of honeydew melon: When you serve the tea, garnish it with a few mint leaves or a slice of honeydew melon for a refreshing touch.

Conclusion:

Iced honeydew mint tea is a refreshing and flavorful summer drink that is easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients, you can enjoy a delicious and healthy beverage that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you are looking for a thirst-quenching drink to enjoy on a hot day or a healthy alternative to sugary sodas, iced honeydew mint tea is a great choice.

So next time you are looking for a refreshing and flavorful drink, give iced honeydew mint tea a try. You won't be disappointed!
