LIISA'S DINNER ROLLS (ABM)

Soft egg dinner roll. These are our families favorites for holiday dinners - but we make them for almost any reason. I've even used this recipe for hamburger buns! They end up being rather large or good size rolls! They freeze well too - if you wrap well. Very tasty!!! You'll probably not switch to another after trying this one! (Cook time does not include the time on bread machine dough cycle).

Tips:

  • To achieve a crispy crust and a soft, fluffy interior, ensure your oven is adequately preheated before baking the rolls.
  • For optimal results, use active dry yeast that is not expired. Old or inactive yeast may prevent the rolls from rising properly.
  • When kneading the dough, avoid overworking it as this can result in tough rolls. Knead just until the dough comes together and forms a smooth ball.
  • Allow the dough to rise in a warm, draft-free location. This will help the yeast work its magic and cause the dough to double in size.
  • To create a shiny glaze on the rolls, brush them with melted butter before baking. This will also help give them a golden-brown color.
  • The rolls are best served warm, straight from the oven. However, they can also be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
