Tips:

  • Use a combination of ground beef and ground pork for a more flavorful meatball. You can also add some finely chopped vegetables, such as onion, carrot, or celery, for extra flavor and texture.
  • Season the meatballs well with salt, pepper, and your favorite Italian herbs and spices. Some good options include garlic powder, onion powder, basil, oregano, and thyme.
  • Gently mix the meatball ingredients together until just combined. Overmixing can make the meatballs tough.
  • Use a small spoon or cookie scoop to form the meatballs. This will help ensure that they are all evenly sized and cooked evenly.
  • Brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat before adding them to the sauce. This will help to seal in the juices and prevent them from drying out.
  • Simmer the meatballs in the sauce for at least 30 minutes, or until they are cooked through. Serve them over spaghetti, rice, or your favorite pasta.
