TURKEY MEATLOAF ITALIAN STYLE
I am on a low carb diet and was looking through some cookbooks for something "exciting". I took a few recipes, and made a few changes to fit my plan and boy oh boy! To my surprise this came out amazingly good. This will also work with the ground meat of your choice. But the turkey is lowest in fat/calories.

Tips for Making a Moist and Flavorful Italian-Style Turkey Meatloaf
- Use a combination of ground turkey and ground beef. This will help to keep the meatloaf moist and flavorful. You can also use all ground turkey, but it may be a bit drier.
- Add plenty of vegetables to the meatloaf. This will help to add moisture, flavor, and nutrients. Some good options include onions, carrots, celery, zucchini, and mushrooms.
- Use a flavorful sauce. The sauce is what will really make your meatloaf sing. You can use a store-bought sauce or make your own. Some good options include tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, or even a creamy mushroom sauce.
- Cook the meatloaf at a low temperature for a long time. This will help to keep it moist and prevent it from becoming dry. The ideal internal temperature for meatloaf is 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing it. This will help to keep the juices from running out.
Conclusion
Italian-style turkey meatloaf is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. It is also a great way to use up leftover turkey. By following these tips, you can make a moist and flavorful meatloaf that your whole family will love.
