Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (1 pound 1.5 ounce) pouch Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons milk
¼ teaspoon vanilla

  • On ungreased cookie sheet, coil dough rope tightly, cinnamon side facing center, into cinnamon-roll shape. Press end of rope into roll to seal. Repeat with remaining dough. Place cookies 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake 7 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.

JESSICA'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Jessica's Chocolate Chip Cookies image

My sister asks for this recipe frequently so I'm posting it on here so she can always find it! I love chocolate chip cookies and have been on the search for years for one. This has been modified to what I think is the perfect chocolate chip cookies! Sometimes I'll switch up the chips to whatever I'm in the mood for (white, dark, milk). You can also do oatmeal and just switch out the flour for however much oatmeal you want! I have found Philsbury four to work the best.

Tips:

  • For the perfect gooey cinnamon bars, use a combination of light brown sugar and granulated sugar in the filling. The light brown sugar adds a rich caramel flavor, while the granulated sugar helps to create a chewy texture.
  • Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing can make the bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined and no dry flour remains.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the bars to hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the bars until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Overbaking will dry out the bars.
  • Let the bars cool completely before frosting them. This will help the frosting to set properly.
  • For a cream cheese frosting, beat together cream cheese, butter, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • For a maple glaze, whisk together maple syrup, butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars.

Conclusion:

Jessica's Cinna Bars are the perfect treat for any occasion. They're easy to make, delicious, and always a hit with friends and family. With a few simple tips, you can make these bars even better.
