- The original recipe does not call for a layer of cream cheese. I modified the recipe to suit my taste after I made it the first time without the cream cheese layer. I felt it was too dry and needed additional texture that the cream cheese layer adds nicely.

Tips:
- Use quality ingredients: The better the quality of your ingredients, the better your Jewel Nut Bars will turn out. Use fresh, unsalted nuts, and high-quality chocolate.
- Toast the nuts: Toasting the nuts before adding them to the mixture will bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the bars until they are set: The bars should be golden brown around the edges and slightly soft in the center. Overbaking will make the bars dry and crumbly.
- Let the bars cool completely before slicing: This will help them to hold their shape and prevent them from falling apart.
Conclusion:
Jewel Nut Bars is a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a hit. With its combination of chocolate, nuts, and coconut, it's the perfect treat for any occasion.
