Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use ripe jicama and melon. Look for jicama that is firm and has a smooth, unblemished skin. The melon should be fragrant and have a slight give when pressed.
  • To easily peel the jicama, use a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife to remove the tough outer skin.
  • If you don't have a mandoline, you can use a sharp knife to thinly slice the jicama and melon. Just be careful to slice them evenly so that they cook evenly.
  • For a sweeter salad, add a drizzle of honey or agave syrup. You can also add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors of the fruit.
  • To make the salad ahead of time, simply combine the jicama, melon, and dressing in a bowl and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. When you're ready to serve, add the mint and toss to combine.

Conclusion:

This jicama and melon salad is a refreshing and healthy side dish that is perfect for any occasion. It's light and flavorful, and it's a great way to get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables. So next time you're looking for a healthy and delicious side dish, give this jicama and melon salad a try. You won't be disappointed!
