JONI'S DATE LOGS - CHRISTMAS
This recipe is from my sister. Our family requests them every holiday season, and it wouldn't be Christmas without them! They are a great addition to your cookie trays and cookie tins to give as gifts to the neighbors, co-workers, friends and family. I hope you will try them, as they truly are fantastic! Word of warning::: These go fast, so make plenty!!! To avoid burning my hands from the hot mixture, I pick up the mixture with a piece of saran wrap, then squeeze it together with my hands and form the log, then roll the log in the coconut. Works great!

Tips:
- Use ripe dates: Softer dates are easier to work with and provide a more natural sweetness to the logs.
- Remove the pits: Make sure to remove the pits from the dates before using them. You can do this with a sharp knife or a pitting tool.
- Use a food processor: A food processor is the easiest way to blend the dates and other ingredients together. If you don't have a food processor, you can use a blender or mash the dates by hand.
- Add nuts and seeds: Adding nuts and seeds to the date logs is a great way to add extra flavor and texture. Some popular options include walnuts, almonds, pecans, and chia seeds.
- Roll the logs in coconut flakes: Rolling the date logs in coconut flakes gives them a festive and delicious coating. You can also use other toppings, such as chopped nuts or sprinkles.
- Chill the logs before slicing: Chilling the date logs before slicing makes them easier to cut and helps them hold their shape.
Conclusion:
Jonis' Date Logs are a delicious and festive treat that is perfect for Christmas or any other special occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple ingredients, you can create a beautiful and tasty dessert that will impress your friends and family.
