4 egg yolks
2 tablespoons cornstarch
4 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped

1 pound frozen strawberries, thawed
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 lemon, juiced

  • Get creative with your toppings: You can top smokies with a variety of ingredients, such as bacon, jalapeƱos, onions, or sauerkraut.
  • Make smokies ahead of time: Smokies can be made ahead of time and reheated later. This makes them a great option for parties or potlucks.
