Tips:

  • To ensure a smooth and creamy texture, use freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese. Pre-packaged shredded cheese often contains additives that can affect the final product.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense souffle.
  • For a crispy, golden-brown crust, preheat the oven to the highest temperature possible before baking the souffle. This will help the souffle rise quickly and evenly.
  • Serve the souffle immediately after baking. This is when it will be at its lightest and fluffiest.
