Time 30m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

125 g butter
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chopped chocolate

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C
  • Beat the butter and sugar until pale and creamy.
  • Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla and mix well.
  • Add flour, baking powder and chocolate, mixing to firm dough. Add a little extra flour if the dough is sticky.
  • Roll into balls and place on a cold greased tray. Press gently with a fork.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  • Cool on a cake rack and store in an airtight container once cold.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe kiwis: Unripe kiwis will not crisp up as well as ripe ones.
  • Slice the kiwis thinly and evenly: This will help them crisp up evenly in the oven.
  • Coat the kiwis in a mixture of sugar and spices: This will help them caramelize and develop a delicious flavor.
  • Bake the kiwis at a low temperature for a long period of time: This will help them crisp up without burning.
  • Watch the kiwis closely towards the end of baking: They can burn easily, so be sure to remove them from the oven as soon as they are crisped to your liking.

Conclusion:

Kiwi crisps are a delicious and healthy snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are also a great way to use up ripe kiwis that you might otherwise have to throw away. With a little planning and effort, you can easily make your own kiwi crisps at home. So next time you have a craving for something sweet and crunchy, reach for a kiwi crisp instead of a potato chip. Your body will thank you for it!
