Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound ground beef (extra lean)
1 small onion (chopped)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
¼ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
2 cups marinara sauce
8 ounce mafalda pasta (uncooked)
3 cups chicken broth (low sodium)
1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
2 tablespoons parsley (fresh, chopped for garnish)

Steps:

  • Cook the beef. In a large skillet cook the ground beef over medium heat until it's no longer pink and starts to brown. Drain off any excess fat, if needed. If using extra lean ground beef there won't be any excess fat to drain.
  • Incorporate onion, garlic and seasoning. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and stir. Season with salt and pepper, Italian seasoning and cook until the onion gets soft and translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Add liquids and pasta. Add the marinara sauce, pasta, chicken broth and stir everything together. Bring to a boil then turn the heat down to low. Cook for about 15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked through, most of the sauce should be absorbed as well.
  • Finish the dish. Stir in the cheese and cook for another 30 seconds to a minute until the cheese melts.
  • Garnish and serve. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Came up with this by accident. Has become a family favorite. Cheap, easy, and everyone loves it. If desired (try it without first) top individual servings with favorite cheese. I have never used cheese in it and no one notices. Goes great with garlic bread.

SPICY HAMBURGER HELPER LASAGNA SOUP

Spicy Hamburger Helper Lasagna Soup image

This is wonderfully easy for those fall evenings when you want something tasty, but don't want to spend much time in the kitchen. I sometimes use 1 can of green beans in place of the zucchini if I don't have it on hand. You can also adjust the heat with a different "strength" of Rotel. ENJOY!

Tips:

  • Choose the right lasagna noodles. There are two main types of lasagna noodles: regular and no-boil. Regular lasagna noodles need to be boiled before assembling the lasagna, while no-boil noodles can be used straight from the package. If you are short on time, no-boil noodles are a good option.
  • Use a variety of cheeses. The classic lasagna cheese combination is ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan, but you can also use other cheeses, such as cheddar, Fontina, or Asiago. Experiment to find your favorite combination.
  • Don't skimp on the sauce. A good lasagna sauce is essential for a flavorful dish. Use a sauce that you like and that has a thick consistency. You should have enough sauce to cover the bottom of the baking dish and to spread between the layers of noodles.
  • Layer the lasagna properly. Start with a layer of sauce, then add a layer of noodles, a layer of cheese, and a layer of sauce. Repeat this process until you have used all of the ingredients. The top layer should be a layer of cheese.
  • Bake the lasagna until it is bubbly and golden brown. The baking time will vary depending on the type of noodles you are using. Regular lasagna noodles will take longer to bake than no-boil noodles.
  • Let the lasagna rest before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the lasagna to set. Let the lasagna rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Conclusion:

Lasagna is a classic Italian dish that is perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight meal. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious lasagna that the whole family will love. So next time you are looking for a hearty and flavorful meal, give lasagna a try.
