Tips:

  • Choose the right pasta: Short pasta shapes like penne, rotini, or shells work best for this salad because they can hold the dressing and toppings well.
  • Use fresh vegetables: Fresh vegetables give the salad a crisp and flavorful texture. Choose vegetables that are in season and at their peak flavor.
  • Make your own dressing: The dressing for this salad is simple to make and can be tailored to your taste. You can use a store-bought dressing if you prefer, but homemade dressing always tastes better.
  • Don't overcook the pasta: Pasta should be cooked al dente, or slightly firm to the bite. This will prevent it from becoming mushy in the salad.
  • Let the salad chill: After assembling the salad, let it chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and the salad to become more flavorful.
