2 small green bell peppers, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon basil
2 tablespoons oil
1 cup uncooked rice
2 large tomatoes, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups water
picante sauce

Steps:

  • Sauté green peppers, onion, and garlic in oil in a frying pan or electric skillet with rosemary and basil until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in rice, tomato, salt, pepper and picante to taste- cook and stir for about 5 minutes.
  • Add water; cover and cook on low till rice is done, stirring occasionally.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the rice will taste. Choose long-grain rice, such as basmati or jasmine, for a light and fluffy texture.
  • Rinse the rice before cooking: This will remove any excess starch and help the rice cook evenly.
  • Use the right amount of water: The general rule of thumb is to use 1 cup of water for every 1/2 cup of rice. However, you may need to adjust the amount of water depending on the type of rice you are using.
  • Cook the rice over low heat: This will help the rice cook evenly and prevent it from becoming mushy.
  • Let the rice rest before serving: This will allow the rice to absorb any remaining moisture and become fluffy.
  • Add flavorings to the rice: You can add a variety of flavorings to the rice, such as herbs, spices, or vegetables. This is a great way to customize the rice to your liking.

Conclusion:

Light rosemary rice is a versatile and delicious side dish that can be served with a variety of meals. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect light rosemary rice every time.
