LINGUICA AND GREEN BEANS

Linguica and Green Beans image

This recipe is well known to Portuguese families. Linguica is a spicy Portuguese sausage and can be found in specialty markets, some chain markets or online at such places as Gaspars.com. TIP: I like to add 1 large can of crushed tomatoes with puree instead of the tomato sauce. This makes it more like a stew and thicker.

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh linguica. If you can't find fresh linguica, you can use smoked linguica, but it will have a stronger flavor.
  • Slice the linguica thinly so that it cooks evenly.
  • If you don't have a Dutch oven, you can use a large skillet or pot.
  • Be careful not to overcook the green beans. They should be tender but still have a slight crunch.
  • Serve the linguica and green beans with your favorite sides, such as rice, potatoes, or salad.

Conclusion:

This linguica and green beans recipe is a quick and easy meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It is also a great way to use up leftover linguica. The linguica and green beans are cooked in a flavorful sauce that is made with olive oil, garlic, onion, and tomatoes. The dish is then seasoned with salt, pepper, and oregano. This recipe is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
