FAT FREE ITALIAN DRESSING
I tweaked our favorite Italian Dressing recipe so it was healthier and more WW friendly. The original recipe (which is Recipe #20158) is fantastic, but it is 2 points plus per Tablespoon. This version is 1 point plus for the WHOLE recipe! We use it on salads, Italian subs, pasta, chicken and even as a dip for bread. You can use red or white wine vinegar. I actually prefer the taste of the red, but it looks more like Italian dressing if you use the white.

Tips:
- Use buttermilk for a tangy flavor: Buttermilk adds a slight tang and creaminess to the dressing, making it a great choice for those who enjoy a little bit of sourness in their salad dressing.
- Add a touch of Dijon mustard for a savory kick: Dijon mustard adds a subtle savory flavor to the dressing without overpowering the other ingredients.
- Fresh herbs are key: Fresh herbs like parsley, basil, and oregano add a bright, herbaceous flavor to the dressing. If you don't have fresh herbs on hand, you can use dried herbs, but be sure to use half the amount since they are more concentrated.
- Use a good quality olive oil: The olive oil is one of the main ingredients in the dressing, so it's important to use a good quality oil. Look for an extra virgin olive oil that has a fruity, peppery flavor.
- Taste and adjust the dressing as needed: Once you've made the dressing, taste it and adjust the seasonings as needed. You may want to add more salt, pepper, or herbs to taste.
Conclusion:
This low-fat creamy Italian salad dressing is a delicious and healthy way to add flavor to your salads. It's made with simple, everyday ingredients and can be easily customized to your liking. Whether you like your dressing tangy, savory, or herby, this recipe has you covered. So next time you're looking for a healthy and flavorful salad dressing, give this recipe a try!
