I have not made this pie, but, it is on my list. I loved the malt ball candy when I was a kid, and this recipe looks and sounds delicious, and is fast and easy. The recipe calls for vanilla ice cream.....wonder how it would taste with chocolate?

Time 4h10m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 ready crust chocolate pie crust, keebler
1 pint vanilla ice cream, softened
one 8oz cool whip, thawed
8 oz. malted milk ball
extra cool whip for garnish, if desired

Steps:

  • 1. Combine softened ice cream and whipped topping u ntil well blended. Crush candy, reserving 8 whole malted milk balls for garnish.
  • 2. Mix 1 cup of crushed candy into the ice cream mixture. Spoon ice cream mixture into pie crust. Top pie with reserved crushed candy and freeze 4 hours.
  • 3. Garnish with whipped topping and whole candies. Freeze till firm.

Tips:

  • Choose the right crust: You can use a pre-made graham cracker crust or make your own from scratch. If you're making your own, use a combination of butter and shortening for a flakier crust.
  • Don't overcook the pudding: The pudding should be thick and creamy, but not too thick. If you overcook it, it will become rubbery.
  • Use fresh fruit: Fresh fruit is always best for pies, but you can also use frozen or canned fruit if you need to.
  • Chill the pie before slicing: This will help the pie hold its shape and make it easier to slice.
  • Serve the pie with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream: This will make the pie even more delicious!
