MAPLE BACON STUFFED JALAPENOS
Maple and jalapeno? Yup ... it's fabulous! These stuffed jalapenos are bursting with flavor. The two different types of meat mixed with the cheeses are great. The maple syrup offsets the spiciness of the pepper and adds a touch of sweet. These babies are salty, sweet, spicy and savory!

Steps:
- 1. Cook the sausage and bacon seperately. Chop bacon into small pieces and mix it with the cheeses, sausage and seasonings.
- 2. Wearing plastic gloves. Cut each pepper in half lengthwise. Using a small spoon scrape out the seeds and membrane. The more seeds and membranes you remove, the milder the pepper will be.
- 3. Stuff the peppers with the mixture. You can grill them on the BBQ (about 15 mins until peppers are cooked and mixture is warm) or you can bake them in a 425 degree oven for 20 mins. (I find it easier to keep them nice looking using the oven.)

Tips:
- Choose the right peppers. For this recipe, you'll want to use fresh jalapeños that are about 2-3 inches long. The peppers should be firm and have a deep green color. Avoid peppers that are bruised or have blemishes.
- Wear gloves when handling the peppers. The capsaicin in jalapeños can irritate your skin, so it's important to wear gloves when you're cutting and seeding them. If you don't have gloves, you can use a plastic bag to protect your hands.
- Remove the seeds and ribs from the peppers. This will help to reduce the heat of the peppers. To do this, cut the peppers in half lengthwise and use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and ribs.
- Use a sharp knife to slice the peppers. This will help to prevent the peppers from tearing. If you have a mandoline, you can also use it to slice the peppers evenly.
- Soak the peppers in cold water for 30 minutes. This will help to remove some of the heat from the peppers. You can also soak the peppers in vinegar or lemon juice for a milder flavor.
- Cook the peppers over medium heat. This will help to prevent the peppers from burning. Cook the peppers for about 5 minutes, or until they are soft and translucent.
- Add the maple syrup and other ingredients. Once the peppers are cooked, add the maple syrup, vinegar, garlic, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Let the peppers cool before serving. The peppers can be served warm or at room temperature. They can be used as a condiment for tacos, burritos, or nachos. They can also be added to salads, sandwiches, or wraps.
Conclusion:
Maple jalapeños are a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of dishes. They are sweet, spicy, and have a slightly smoky flavor. The peppers are easy to make and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. So next time you're looking for a new way to add some flavor to your food, give maple jalapeños a try!
