Time 15m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 pound ground pork
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Combine salt and pepper, fennel in the bottom of a bowl. Add pork and mix to combine spices. Pour 2 tablespoons maple syrup over the pork and work the meat again to combine the maple syrup. Form meat into patties, 2 to 3 inches round. Cook patties in 1 tablespoon oil in a nonstick skillet over medium high heat 4 or 5 minutes on each side. Drain sausage patties on towel lined plate, then serve.

Tips:

  • Choose high-quality sausage: Look for sausage made with fresh, ground pork and spices, without any fillers or additives.
  • Use a variety of spices: In addition to the classic maple flavor, you can add other spices such as sage, thyme, rosemary, or garlic powder to create a more complex flavor profile.
  • Don't overcook the patties: Cook the patties over medium heat until they are cooked through but still juicy. Overcooking will make them dry and tough.
  • Serve with your favorite sides: Maple sausage patties are delicious served with eggs, pancakes, or waffles for breakfast, or with mashed potatoes and gravy for dinner.

Maple sausage patties are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. With their sweet and savory flavor, they are sure to be a hit with everyone who tries them. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give maple sausage patties a try!
