The bold combination of soy sauce, balsamic, and maple syrup works its magic on the meat quickly, so it only needs to marinate for as long as it takes to get your grill fired up. In the fall and winter, we pair this steak with maple-sweetened butternut squash. Come summer, it's a natural with a tomato salad and corn on the cob.

1 tsp granulated garlic
1 tsp granulated onion
1 tsp thyme, dried-divided
1/2 tsp course ground pepper
2 lb (4) new york strip steaks
4 pats unsalted butter
4 pinch hickory sea salt

  • 2. Preheat grill to high. Spray grill grates with Pam Olive Oil Spray. Grill steaks on both sides for 2-4 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 130 degrees for medium rare or preferred doneness.
  • 3. Remove steaks from the grill and place on large platter. Put 1 pat of butter on each steak and top with pinches of remaining thyme & sea salt.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of steak: Look for cuts that are tender and flavorful, such as ribeye, strip, or tenderloin.
  • Marinate your steak: Marinating the steak helps to tenderize it and infuse it with flavor. Use a marinade made with olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, and herbs.
  • Season your steak: Before grilling, season the steak with salt and pepper. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
  • Grill the steak over high heat: This will help to sear the steak and create a nice crust. Cook the steak for 3-4 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  • Let the steak rest before serving: This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
