Time 1h

Yield 1 pie

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/4 cups sugar
3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 ounces Pet milk (evaporated)
2 eggs
1 pie crust, uncooked

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Mix everything together in one big bowl.
  • You don't have to bake the crust first, prick the bottom of it.
  • Pour filling into crust.
  • Bake for about 50 minutes. Let the pie set for a long while once it comes out of the oven. I think this definitely tastes better room temperature.
  • If you'd like, serve with a big scoop of ice-cream, some fruit, a little whipped cream, or straight out of the pie plate!

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate: The quality of your chocolate will greatly impact the flavor of your pie. Use a good-quality semisweet or bittersweet chocolate for the best results.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the pie tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the pie in a preheated oven: This will help the pie to bake evenly.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving: This will allow the pie to set and the flavors to develop.
  • Serve the pie with whipped cream or ice cream: This will add a delicious finishing touch.

Minny's chocolate pie is a classic Southern dessert that is sure to please everyone. It is rich, chocolatey, and has a flaky, buttery crust.
