Tips:
- Measure accurately: Baking is a science, and precise measurements are essential for success. Use a kitchen scale to weigh ingredients whenever possible, and make sure your measuring cups are level.
- Use fresh ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your bars will taste. If possible, use nuts that have been roasted within the last six months.
- Toast your nuts: Toasting nuts enhances their flavor and makes them more crunchy. You can toast nuts in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes, or in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make your bars tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Press the batter firmly into the pan: This will help to prevent the bars from crumbling when you cut them.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting them: This will help to prevent them from falling apart.
