9 slices bread, torn into bite size pieces
½ cup diced fresh mushrooms
½ cup chopped green bell pepper
16 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
½ cup chopped onion
2 cups cubed cooked ham
8 eggs
2 cups milk

Steps:

  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer half of the torn bread in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle the mushrooms and green bell pepper evenly over the bread layer. Sprinkle with half of the cheese. Top with remaining bread pieces, then layer with the onion and ham. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Whisk together eggs and milk; pour over the entire pan. Cover with aluminum foil, and refrigerate for 12 to 24 hours.

This is Brad Pitt's Mom's recipe and is supposedly one of his favorite dishes. This needs to be made the night before and refrigerated overnight, which means you can't exactly whip this up if Brad drops in unexpectedly!

1 lb mild pork sausage
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon dried mustard
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups cubed bread, crusts
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Brown sausage in a medium skillet over low heat.
  • Drain grease and set aside to cool.
  • Lightly beat eggs in a large bowl; add milk, mustard and salt and blend well.
  • Stir in bread crusts, add sausage and cheese and mix well.
  • Pour into a shallow, 2-qt glass baking dish and refrigerate overnight.
  • The next morning, preheat oven to 350° and bake casserole for 40-45 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

6 -8 slices sandwich bread
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups milk
8 -10 eggs
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup
12 ounces roll breakfast sausage (I use Jimmy Dean's hot for extra flavor)
salt & pepper

Steps:

  • Place bread at bottom of greased glass baking dish.
  • Break up sausage into bite-size pieces & cook in pan.
  • While sausage is cooking, mix eggs & milk in bowl.
  • After sausage is done, add it to the milk & egg mixture.
  • Pour mixture over bread.
  • Cover mixture in pan with cheese.
  • Top off with soup.
  • Put in oven at 325 degrees in glass dish for about 35-40 minutes or until egg has risen and edges are bubbly (you'll know it's not done if the dish jiggles).
