3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 (8 ounce) pork chops
salt and ground black pepper to taste
¼ cup minced onion
½ cup water
1 (15 ounce) can cream-style corn

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and stir in the garlic. Season chops with salt and black pepper. Pan fry until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Place the chops into the prepared baking dish, and scatter the onions over the chops.
  • Pour water into the skillet, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Scrape up and dissolve all the juices and browned flavor bits from the skillet into the water. Pour the mixture over the pork chops. Spread creamed corn evenly over the pork chops.

MOM'S SAUCY PORK CHOPS

Mom's Saucy Pork Chops image

As you can see from the title this was my Mom's recipe. It makes a wonderful sauce that even kids like. We used to scrape the dish to get the last little bit of it on our chops. I always wondered what would happen if you doubled the sauce ingredients and tossed in a little bit of rice. If you try it, please let me know:)

Categories     Pork

Time 55m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

4 boneless pork chops (or your favorite cut of pork chops)
4 slices onions
4 tablespoons brown sugar
4 tablespoons ketchup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet (like a jellyroll pan) with aluminum foil.
  • Place all four pork chops on pan.
  • Add 1 Tbsp of ketchup on the center of each of the pork chops.
  • Next, add 1 Tbsp of brown sugar on top of the ketchup on each pork chop.
  • Last, put a slice of onion on top of the brown sugar and ketchup.
  • Place in preheated oven.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or so,depending on thickness of your chops.
  • Done when meat is no longer pink.

Tips:

  • Choose the right pork chops: Look for chops that are at least 1/2-inch thick and have a good amount of marbling. This will help ensure that they stay juicy and flavorful during cooking.
  • Brine the pork chops: Brining the pork chops in a mixture of water, salt, and sugar will help to tenderize them and keep them moist. You can brine the pork chops for as little as 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  • Season the pork chops liberally: Pork chops are a relatively bland meat, so it's important to season them well. You can use a variety of seasonings, such as salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or chili powder.
  • Cook the pork chops over medium heat: Cooking the pork chops over medium heat will help to prevent them from drying out. Cook the pork chops for about 8-10 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the pork chops rest before serving: Letting the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful chop.

Conclusion:

Pork chops are a versatile and affordable cut of meat that can be cooked in a variety of ways. By following the tips above, you can cook pork chops that are juicy, flavorful, and tender. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal, give pork chops a try!
