MRS. MUELLER'S HONEY POPCORN
One of my dearest friends shared her mother's recipe with me for this tasty, lightly honey flavored popcorn. It is very easy and makes for a nice snack, especially enjoyed by children. Please only use freshly popped unseasoned popcorn - this really doesn't work well with the preseasoned microwave popcorn. Prep time assumes you have started with already popped popcorn.

Steps:
- Place popcorn in a large bowl. Lightly coat a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, honey, 2 tablespoons water, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-high and cook, swirling occasionally but not stirring, until sugar is dissolved and mixture is deep amber in color, 7 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in butter, sesame oil, and baking soda (mixture will bubble up).
- Quickly drizzle caramel over popcorn; toss to coat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and 1/4 teaspoon salt (or more to taste). Spread popcorn out on baking sheet and let cool completely, then break into pieces and serve.
Tips:
- Use fresh popcorn kernels: Fresh kernels will pop better and result in a more flavorful popcorn.
- Don't overcrowd the pot: When popping popcorn, only fill the pot about 1/3 full. Overcrowding the pot will result in unevenly popped popcorn.
- Use enough oil: Be generous with the oil when popping popcorn. This will help to prevent the kernels from burning.
- Don't let the popcorn burn: Keep a close eye on the popcorn while it is popping. As soon as the popping slows down, remove the pot from the heat.
- Season the popcorn to taste: Once the popcorn is popped, season it to taste with salt, pepper, butter, or your favorite popcorn seasoning.
Conclusion:
Honey popcorn is a delicious and easy-to-make snack that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a sweet and crunchy treat that is perfect for movie nights, parties, or everyday snacking. So next time you are looking for a tasty snack, give honey popcorn a try. You won't be disappointed!
