Tips

  • Choose ripe, sweet mulberries: The best mulberries for pie are those that are fully ripe and sweet. Avoid mulberries that are still green or tart.
  • Use a pastry blender or food processor to cut the butter into the flour: This will help to create a flaky crust.
  • Chill the dough before rolling it out: This will help to prevent the dough from shrinking in the oven.
  • Preheat the oven before baking: This will help to ensure that the pie crust cooks evenly.
  • Brush the edges of the pie crust with milk before baking: This will help to create a golden brown crust.
  • Serve the pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream: This is the perfect way to enjoy a slice of mulberry pie!
