OATMEAL CHIPPERS
This recipe was given to me by a friend many years ago. It's one of my favorite cookies - they're always a big hit at Christmas. If you make them as directed you get a slightly crunchy cookie. If you want a softer chewier cookie make them a little bigger and bake for only 10 minutes. Cooking time assumes baking 2 sheets (about 32 cookies) at a time.

Tips:
- Use old-fashioned oats. These oats will give your cookies a chewy texture.
- Don't overmix the dough. Overmixing will make the cookies tough.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies hold their shape.
- Bake the cookies until they are golden brown around the edges. Overbaking will make the cookies dry.
- Let the cookies cool completely before storing them. This will help the cookies stay chewy.

Whether you are looking for a quick snack or a sweet treat to share with friends and family, oatmeal chippers are sure to be a hit.
