Yield Makes about 2 quarts

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups sugar
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups milk, or half-and-half

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together all ingredients. Transfer to an ice-cream maker, and freeze following manufacturer's instructions. Store in an airtight container.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The better the ingredients, the better the ice cream will be.
  • Make sure your ice cream maker is clean and properly assembled. A dirty or improperly assembled ice cream maker will not churn the ice cream properly.
  • Chill the ice cream base before churning. This will help the ice cream freeze more quickly and smoothly.
  • Churn the ice cream until it is thick and creamy. Do not over-churn the ice cream, or it will become icy.
  • Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze it for at least 4 hours before serving. This will allow the ice cream to fully harden.
  • Enjoy your delicious homemade ice cream!

Conclusion:

Making homemade ice cream is a fun and rewarding experience. With a little patience and effort, you can create delicious, creamy ice cream that is sure to impress your family and friends. So get creative and experiment with different flavors and toppings. The possibilities are endless!
